Knickers to your healthy lifestyle!!!

Hi,

My fellow franchisee Chris Tuck wrote this and I loved it so much I thought I would share it with you all!!
When you get up in the morning do you put your knickers on without thinking?
Hopefully you do! Hopefully it's automatic!

Well I want you to to get to the same point with your new healthier lifestyle. 
I want it to be so automatic, so habitual for you that you don't have to think about it!
All you have to decide on is what knickers you are going to wear!

Big girls knickers
Control pants
Boxers
High legs
Midi's
Mini's
Thongs

When you 1st start your change in lifestyle you might be wearing your big girls knickers (non matching underwear)..you know the ones that keep everything tucked or control pants that make your feel like you are a sausage.

You might feel abit uncomfortable? A bit squidgy around the edges? A bit wobbly? A bit embarrassed? May have low self esteem? Not liking what you see in the mirror? Not liking how you feel? Conscious of what others think of you?

Knickers to that!!

As you embark on a healthier lifestyle you begin to feel your big girls knickers getting looser, you might feel flatter from the inside out.

Over time you might feel confident enough to trade in your big girls knickers for the ones that suit where you are at, and as you continue on your journey you may even become a thong girl!

If you are reading this and you are an avid fan of the big slimming groups Weight Watchers, Slimming World etc then please don't think I am just putting them down as I know lots of people do have success with them and weight loss is good no matter how you do it.
 
However....
 
​A colleague of mine Paris Robinson, posted the following blog last week and I wanted to share it with you
 
Here are his thoughts.....
 
As a lot of you probably already know, when I started my journey into fitness it was because my brother was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes even though he was only 2 stone overweight. So I knew I had to get serious and tried every diet out there, I even became a counsellor for the Cambridge Health and Weight Plan.
 
However, after becoming a franchisee for Kick Start Fat Loss, I have finally seen that these slimming clubs are not the answer. This is completely reflected in the 19 strong crew that are currently on my program. I have never been so proud when this week is there final week of the 28 day detox and the number of success certificates handed out this week of combined weight loss is over 9 1/2 stone. Some have lost over a stone and most half a stone due to the variances in starting weight, but all of them are saying they feel better and will continue the way they have been retrained to eat for the rest of their lives.
 
These are crew members just like you that have been to things like Weight Watchers and Slimming World. Now since this is my newsletter and these opinions are my own, I am going to go on a bit of a rant now. Bear with me though.

If I said to you, give me £1200 a year and I will give you amazing recipe books, weekly weigh ins, coaching, social groups, online programs, low fat foods and other added extras, but I wanted to let you know before the program starts that you will only lose on average of 12% over a year or around 25 lbs on a 15 stone person would you do it?
 
Now this is just the statistics for weight watchers, unfortunately this is the case for most slimming clubs out there.
 
After one year of losing the weight 98% of people regain it and some regain even more than when they started the first time.
food you could eat was astonishing. However, a lot of the foods that are given as free foods are ANTI: Addictive, nutrient poor, toxic, and/or inflammatory.
 
Let's take for instance eating as much pasta as you want. Pasta is made with white flour, so it's addictive due to it being a simple carbohydrate, it is nutrient poor because white flour has removed the bran and the germ from the whole grain so there is no more fibre in it, it's toxic because it is actually commercially bleached to make it whiter, and it's inflammatory which in turn leads to weight gain and if you combine it with fructose it increases the risk of heart disease and type 2 diabetes.
 
Also on slimming world you have to count avocado as syns as they are high fat, but let's look at this fat food shaming. Now an avocado is incredibly nutritious, it contains Vitamins K, C, E, B5, B6, and Folate, it contains more potassium than a banana, it is loaded with monounsaturated fatty acid called oleic acid which has been linked to reduce inflammation, loaded with soluble fibre which is responsible for good digestive health and can contribute to weight loss, and it's also proven to lower cholesterol.
 
However the average slimming world participant would never eat an avocado as it's 9 1/2 syns!!
 
So I ask you to think, why are slimming groups still promoting eating these ANTI foods in large amounts, but want you to limit the amount of foods that are proven are much healthier.
 
The answer (again my own opinion) is there is no money in 98% of people reaching their goal weight and then start eating non slimming world and weight watchers processed foods like fresh vegetables all the time.
 
Weight Watchers is owned by Heinz and they want you to keep buying their food for the rest of your lives, which some people do.
 
Slimming World wants your weight loss to be slow and that you will keep coming to their groups because they know the foods on this list of free foods will slow down all results and keep you coming back for years.
 
Even a study in 2011 found that, in common with some other weight loss programmes used in primary care, Slimming World's regime did not help people achieve weight loss any better than increasing exercise levels alone.

So if you believe "everything in moderation" is the answer, think again. Everything in moderation causes obesity, because most of that everything damages you and your health.

I have to say I do agree with lots of his points, I have done both of these diets plus others and whilst I had success I didn't change my habits for good and so I regained weight but also didn't feel the benefits in my health that I have from clean eating.
 
My concern is always around health, yes my clients want to lose fat and inches but I think about what is going on inside your body
 
You need to STOP eating sugar and sweeteners, processed foods and LOW FAT products!!!!

Hi,

Looking After Your Liver Is Crucial For Fatloss & Health

If mid section weight gain is a problem for you then  it could point to high levels of insulin and cortisol.
Also as the tummy is situated close to the liver this also gives us a clue that something is going
on underneath that area. 
If the Liver is struggling, overworked and congested fatloss is almost impossible which brings me onto Insulin.

Insulin is a fat storing hormone.
 
High levels of insulin results in fat storage around the abdominal area.



The high levels of insulin send a message to the liver 
to store more fat.


Working to get your liver healthy is a massive step into losing body fat around the mid section, energy levels and reduces the likelihood of developing type 2 diabetes.

A healthy liver is CRUCIAL not only for fatloss but your health in general.

Here are my 5 Top Tips

1. Eat unprocessed foods and enjoy a diet full of meat, fish, eggs, healthy carbs, some fruit and LOADS of veggies!!

2. Enjoy good fats, learn to love full fat butter, coconut oil and avocados!

3. Alcohol is a powerful toxin & is a nightmare for fatloss. Avoid it or drink occasionally

4. Cut sugar out of your diet as sugary bad carbohydrate foods clog the liver and send insulin levels through the roof


5. Avoid sweeteners such as aspartame, stevia etc they are also super toxic for the liver.

Bloody Men!

Hi,

How many times have you embarked on a healthy eating regime and your other half decides to join in to support you then they lose more weight faster than you!!!

​Annoying isn't it!

​Great when they like to support you but when you are being really good and it seems to just fall off them it can get to you!

Why does it happen???

  • Men are bigger usually and so they use up more energy simply moving around - therefore they only have to cut down a bit and it falls off them
  • Men tend to have more muscle than women and bodies with a higher muscle composition burn more energy
  • Women tend to cook the kids food more, not all I know, but when you are cooking the kids food there is more temptation to pinch some!
  • ​Women are more likely to be emotional eaters, another generalisation, I know, but women are more likely to comfort eat, snack out of boredom or frustration or eat for many reasons other than hunger.  most diets fail to do anything other than restrict food intake.
So what can we do about it as women???


We can build more lean muscle tissue for a start, make sure that you incorporate some weight bearing exercise into your routine, this can be bodyweight so classes like yoga/pilates/toning etc


We can also learn to address our issues with food, look at why we maybe snack or binge and adopt a healthy eating plan that address mindset and promotes a lifestyle change when it comes to food rather then simply restricting food groups or portions!


This is the way of life I promote with Kick Start Fat Loss, I look at why we eat at certain times or crave certain things and teach tricks and ways to change your mindset for good!

Salt is SOMETHING else that has been given a BAD RAP healthwise.

So, I thought I’d bring you right up to date with what's going on with salt & how it can help 
your adrenals, balance your hormones

The benefits of Himalayan salt include:

Quinoa Choco Crispy Cakes

Hi,

I made these gorgeous sweet cakes at my launch last week and they went down a treat, let me know if you try them!!

– 120g quinoa puffs (I buy mine from Amazon)
– 80g cacao powder 

– 3 tablespoons honey
– 5 tablespoons of coconut oil
– 2 tablespoons almond butter 

Melt the oil, butter, honey and cacao powder in a pan.

Once this has melted pour it over the quinoa pops and mix it all together until everything is covered

Divide the mixture between small cake cases and freeze for 10 minutes, remove from the freezer and enjoy!!!

Are you worried about cholesterol and eating good fats?

Hi,
 
Lots of people ask me the Cholesterol question. 

It's such a worry for so many people.

I encourage you to eat good fats and up the amount of good fats you eat daily and this rings alarm bells with anyone who has a history of high Cholesterol. 

So, I need to clear something up here. 
 
Are you on Statins? 
 
Do you know friends, family or colleagues that have been diagnosed with high Cholesterol? 
 
Did your GP tell you to cut down on saturated fats in your diet? 
 
Did they put you on Statins? 

Did Your GP give you the bog standard test? 

Some things you need to know:
 
Your body NEEDS cholesterol to make it's hormones, cell membranes and brain cells.

Science has proved it's sugar & refined carbohydrates that are the real BAD GUYS 
 
And anything with High Fructose Corn Syrup is the just catastrophic.  

It's in fizzy drinks, fruit juices, processed foods, LOW FAT FOODS, alcohol, tinned food, convenience food, sauces, dips, breakfast cereals........ the list goes on and on. 

Did you also know that Statins can cause terrible side effects? 

Brain damage 

Diabetes (Type 2) 

Negative effects on muscles.
