How to lose weight this summer

Next Saturday 4th July I will be doing a live FREE talk all about this subject.

This is a first for me and I am really excited to be sharing lots of the latest fat loss info with you all.

​I have been busy reading a lot lately about the science behind fat loss and about the fact that research now shows us that a lot of what we have been told about how we should be eating is wrong.....maybe that is why we have such an obesity problem along with a growing number of Type 2 diabetes cases???

I will be sharing some of my own personal journey with you all as well, including a photo of me 9 years ago when I was 2 stone heavier than I am now, before I embarked on a clean eating journey.

So if you want to come and hear how I have lost weight and also how I have helped lots of clients do the same, join us on Saturday 4th July at Pype Hayes Golf Club, Sutton Coldfield 10am.

When things get in the way!

We are all human and life happens...

​So many times people say to me "I was eating so well and then it was my birthday etc etc"
​or " I was determined to come to class tonight  but then etc etc" or " I was going to get up early to do a workout at home but then...."

It is life, it happens to us all, best intentions and all that.

​But when something gets in the way or goes wrong to throw us off course, it is how you deal with it that matters.

If you think well that is it then, I may as well give up until next Monday or head off to the nearest McDonalds, then you are going to constantly be in that cycle.

I used to be like that, if I knew I was going out for a meal and it was going to be a naughty one, I would think well I may as well write today off and be naughty all day....or if I started well on a Monday, then by Wednesday went off track, I would think hey may as well give up till next Monday and so on......

Instead I decided to......

Accept that that thing happened to stop me doing what I needed to do that day, but tomorrow is another day and that will be better.

Let go of the negative "I am so rubbish at this diet and fitness thing"  and think "today didn't go to plan but tomorrow is another day and that will go to plan".

​In my job I am lucky enough to come into contact with lots of women on a daily basis and we all do a marvellous job, juggling and balancing so many different things, if yesterday was not a great day for you, only you can make sure that today is a better day!

Is a lack of sleep making you fat?

This is an interesting one which we have been discussing the past week on the Hot Body Diet page.



When the body is under stress, a hormone called Cortisol is released and this is a fat storing hormone that prevents the body from burning fat even when you are eating well and exercising.




A lack of sleep is one way of putting the body under stress, therefore it is vital to get your sleep.




Personally I like to be in bed by 10pm and then I tend to get up at 5am in the week, a little later on weekends.




It is great to aim for 6-8 hours of quality sleep, making sure the room is dark and quiet, also avoiding using your phone or PC just before bed.




Avoiding stress is one way of making sure your body is as efficient as possible when it comes to burning fat.




So if you have been eating well and exercising but are struggling to see results, stress and a lack of sleep could be contributing to it.

Hot Body Diet

 I am throwing open wide the doors on my Hot Body Diet plan.

I was on a course on Saturday updating my knowledge on the best ways to burn fat and feel better.

Guess what loads of it was the stuff that my clients on The Hot Body diet are already doing.

​My story is that I am someone who has always struggled with my weight, I have to watch what I eat and have done every diet there is going.

I have done diets where I have been starving and feeling miserable.

That is until I discovered clean eating.

It makes you feel good on the inside and out to eat "clean"

​I wake up every morning full of energy and raring to go.

Now if I let my nutrition slip which I hold my hands up and say I have over the last few weeks, I feel rubbish.

So last week I thought to myself right you have to get back on it.

It is hard and we are always surrounded by temptations, sugar being a massive one for me.

But I have my holiday in 8 weeks and I know if I don't clean up my eating then I will regret it when I am on holiday and I don't feel my best.

Now that is not just to do with how I will look on the beach but I want to feel toned and more confident.

So I am having a strict 8 weeks now, I am going to eat as clean as I can, avoid sugar and get my daily workouts in, in addition to the classes I teach.

Because that is another thing I have learnt, my body is used to the exercise I do, so I need to step it up with some extra workouts to see changes.
