So I have started my training today to bring you a new class from September called UNITE.
UNITE is a trend setting, designer class concept focusing on total body conditioning using pilates and Yoga inspired postures and sequences. The class is fast moving, fun and ultra addictive. I am so excited to be bringing you this class as I know so many of you really enjoyed the yoga and pilates that I have run previously so to merge the two in a fantastic workout is super exciting for me. Lots of you have told me the difference you have felt in your body tone while the classes haven't been running so I am looking forward to fixing that for you soon!!! I will be running UNITE on a Monday evening at Falcon Lodge Community Centre at 7.45pm and at Wylde Green Community Centre on a Thursday morning at 9.30am....£5 a class. The classes will launch the first week I am back which is week commencing 1st September. I hope you are looking forward to it as much as me!!!!! So its been a while since I posted a blog on here but its been a busy old time for me! Lots of you will know that I had a baby boy on the 23rd May and so that makes him seven weeks old now. I thought it was about time I got back on my blog and updated you as to how things are going! I had a c section in the end as Jude was breech and no matter what I tried he did not seem to want to turn...so a c section was planned for 39 weeks. I continued to teach all my classes up to 36 weeks and even stood in the day before I had Jude to teach a pilates class which was great fun and something to tell him when he is older!
I had a great pregnancy and felt so well and healthy throughout I was really lucky. The birth was also a great experience, a c section was not what I wanted really but in the end Jude was delivered healthy and well and I was discharged 24 hours after having him. My recovery as gone well, I was very sore for the first few weeks but started to do gentle pelvic floor work from day 3. I then increased my abdominal work taking it very easy after a couple of weeks. I also have been doing lots of walking, I started with just 10 minutes building up to 40 minutes now. I had my 6 week post natal check up last week and was given the all clear to exercise so the next day I tried a HIIT workout at home keeping it low and I felt absolutely fine so my plan is to keep doing a 10 minute HIIT workout at home now every day gradually increasing the intensity. I also have no abdominal separation and my pelvic floor seems to be in great working order which is fab!!! As for classes, they have been going great and Laura and Bev have been doing a great job of keeping everything ticking over in my absence. The plan for me is to return on the 1st September and I can't wait to see you all. I will be posting regular blogs now I am getting back to normal, I hope you enjoy them! Kelly x |
