Do you wish you could unplug from life for a bit?

Life can be very stressful nowadays hey?

​I seem to be constantly on my phone, iPad or laptop, if I am not doing that then I am dashing about thinking about work or the kids, I find it very difficult to simply unplug from life.

However I have recently started to try and take a small time each day to sit and simply do some meditation and be silent and I am loving it.

It feels weird to sit in silence at first and try to disconnect from everything, but when you achieve it you feel so energised afterwards.

This is something I wanted to achieve with my fitness retreat.

I want an environment where women can go away for a few days together and simply "unplug" .
They won't have to think about cooking meals, washing clothes or any of the other day to day tasks, as they will all be taken care of.

They will be able to be in the company of other women who want the same as them for that weekend, some fitness, good food and relaxation.

They will be enjoying fresh food and receiving tips on how to eat healthily, they will be participating if they wish in a variety of classes with me, some of which will be outside looking over the Derbyshire countryside. They will be enjoying a walk around a beautiful reservoir and indulging in massage and other treatments by a qualified beauty therapist.

I will be on hand all weekend to offer these ladies whatever they wish, I will be holding talks on clean eating, answering questions and showing one to one the best ways to exercise and I will even be holding some meditation sessions for those that wish to try it.

The ladies that are booked on are so excited as am I !​

How scary is it walking into a new class?

Have you ever done it?

​Have you ever had the courage to walk into a gym or a fitness class for the first time, maybe with a friend or even more scary on your own!

It can be very daunting if you have done it.

​I remember the first time I went into a gym and also the first time I went to a class.

​You think everyone will know each other, or everyone will be fitter than me, or everyone will be super skinny, or they will all look at me if I don't know what I am doing, am I right?

Well even if they do all know each other they probably only met through that class and if you say hi they will usually say hi back!

Yes some of them may be fitter than you but guess what if you start coming to classes you will get fitter too!

Chances are there will be people of all different shapes and sizes, in my classes they certainly are.

And lastly believe me no one is taking a blind bit of notice of what you are doing, as an instructor I can tell you they generally do not take their eyes off the person up at the front!

So if you have been thinking about starting up some classes or the gym then just do it, you might just enjoy it and what is the worst that can happen?

​That applies to trying something different as well, don't be scared of a new class or trying a bootcamp or changing something, again you might just like it!

How healthy do you want to be?

I guess most peoples answer is as healthy as I can possibly be.

Why don't we always do all that we can to make us that then?

Most of us know that eating sugar is bad for us.

​We know that we need to get regular exercise, a mixture of cardio to get the heart pumping and weight bearing to build muscle.

Most of us know that we need to eat lots of veggies and some fruit each week

And again most of us know that caffeine and alcohol are not great for our body and should be moderated.

And I could go on and on

​But even though we know these things lots of people still keep eating the sugar, drinking the caffeine and not getting the exercise etc

Why is this???

I am coming at this today not from a weight loss angle but from a health angle.

If you can feel the benefits of a healthy eating plan in your body, if you are sleeping better, feeling happier, feeling less bloated and cleaner on the inside, reducing medications and simply bursting with health and happiness, will you keep doing whatever it was that made you feel like that?

​I think most people would and that is what I experience with my clients on the Hot Body plan, once they start to feel the difference in their health never mind what the scales or the tape measure say then they want to keep doing it.

They don't want to eat the "bad" foods that will send them spiralling back into low energy, bad moods and the chance of developing heart disease or diabetes.

One of my clients said to me last week that she could see herself really sticking to this for the rest of her life now as she couldn't always stay motivated when it was about weight, but when it was about her health she could.

Powerful I thought?

​So take a moment to think about how healthy you feel, forgetting your weight and what size clothes you want to be in, are you healthy from the inside out?
