My 5 Top Tips for Eating Healthy

Here goes...


1. My absolute top tip is to eat clean. Eating clean means eating only unprocessed food that do not contain loads of ingredients. If you look at a food and it contains a whole host of ingredients some of which you have never heard of then it is not a great choice. I don't believe in counting calories or weighing and measuring everything, I believe in eating clean food.


2. No snacking. If you are eating three healthy filling meals every day there is no need to snack. Everytime we eat our hormone levels are affected and we need to give the body a break from eating and working to digest our food constantly.


3. Keep hydrated. Aiming for a minimum of 2 litres of water a day and making water your choice of beverage avoiding any fizzy carbonated drinks.


4. Staying away from fast food. Steering clear of McDonalds, Burger King, KFC etc has to be in my top tips as I feel these foods are not only bad for your waistline and health but make you feel awful!


5. Eat a protein rich breakfast. No cereals or toast for breakfast, instead make eggs your top choice and have them scrambled, poached, boiled or however you wish. They will fill you up all day and really keep you going.

Why are we so hard on ourselves?

I was prompted to write this by some comments in one of my online groups got me thinking....

When we are trying to be healthier and make some positive changes if we have a "slip up" we are often really hard on ourselves


​​​​​​​Instead of focusing on all the positive changes we HAVE made we often focus on things that maybe didn't go to plan...

I think its really important to remember we are all only human and if we are trying to improve our diet as a complete lifestyle change then life will happen sometimes...holidays, meals out, celebrations can all get in the way 

BUT

Life is for living....my motto is enjoy it then get straight back on plan..


Are you very hard on yourself? Do you give up if one little slip up happens??

Getting Back To It After A Holiday

So I have just come back from a great holiday....but boy did I feel bloated and FAT ( I hate that word really but I did) after my holiday

​​​​​​​We were camping and so access to great healthy fish and meats veggies, beautiful breakfasts like you would get in a nice hotel wasn't there...

I had to make the best that I could....but those cornish treats crept in.....


And then the alcohol.....having a drink every day......because guess what I am human and when I go away I am like everyone else I like to loosen up a bit 


SO WHAT DID I DO WHEN I GOT BACK????


​​​​​​​I got straight back ON IT.....back to the gym.....back to healthy eating and so I am feeling better already


It made me think though about how people with weight to lose feel

My clothes were tight
I had heartburn

​​​​​​​I wasn't sleeping well
My energy was low

I got some spots


And that was just in loosening things up for 10 days!!!
