What is your September resolution?

8/27/2015

Lets break away from the usual and set a September resolution.

Who needs to wait for January to set New Years resolutions!

I think that September is a great time to look back on what you have done so far this year and what you would like to change before the end of the year

That could be related to exercise...so trying a new class or fitness regime

It could be diet so trying to cut out sugar, or bread, or alcohol or indeed adopt a completely new way of eating

Or it could be being braver and having the guts to try something new!

I will kick it off and say that my September resolution is to run 3 times a week

Hit reply and share yours with me!

Lets see if we can really make a change to how we feel this side of Christmas so that we end the year feeling healthy and happy.

I know that it can be intimidating to walk into a new class, what shall I wear, what if they all know what they are doing and I don't, what if I can't do it are all questions we ask ourselves

But just do it, take the plunge and be brave!

Would you like a sweet treat?

Have you got a sweet tooth?

I have and giving up sugar is something I find hard to do every day and I know that lots of my clients also feel like this.

So I wanted to share my cookie recipe with you today.

These are easy to make and taste delicious, all my family love them!

So here you go:

Kelly's Clean Choccie Cookies

100g ground almonds

100g ground hazelnuts

100g buckwheat flour

100ml honey

100ml water

3 tablespoons cacao powder

3 tablespoons chia seeds

2 tablespoons coconut oil

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees

Simply place all the ingredients into a food processor until a sticky dough forms.

Place some greaseproof paper onto a baking tray and form the dough into cookie shapes, placing onto the baking tray, you should get between 8-10 cookies.

Bake them in the oven for 15 minutes and then put your feet up and enjoy with a cuppa (decaf or fruit preferably!)

Is it time to throw away the scales?

Hi

I am not sure about this....

I myself have always been a bit of a slave to the weighing scales.

I try to weigh myself once a week at the same time, as I advise my clients to do, but sometimes I am tempted to jump on in between as well.

What that number says can influence my mood that day and also affect how I eat or train.

For example, if I have been really good but not lost any weight then that can get me down, I can be tempted to think, sod it (excuse the language!)

Or if I have maybe not been quite so good but the numbers are positive i.e. I stay the same or lose, I think ah well I can maybe get away with eating that way a bit then.

Anyone else experience these feelings when they weigh?

So when I was away on holiday with time to reflect I thought maybe I should not weigh myself when I get home.

I know, as I said on Tuesday that I have gained weight, I know that by the way I feel and my clothes, I don't need the scales to tell me that.

So for the first time in my life I have not weighed myself since I got home which is a week today.

Do you know what, I feel liberated!!!!!

I am just being really good with my nutrition and getting extra exercise in, and I am already feeling better.

Now I am not sure how long I am going to do this for, I set myself a goal of not weighing myself in August so I shall see how I go.

Will I introduce this way of thinking to my clients following my diet....I don't know yet.

I get that people like to see results, but perhaps a weigh once a month or every six weeks may take the emphasis away from a number dictating your mood and your day.

I will continue my no weighing experiment and see how I get on, I will update you as always!
