For those who dont know, my background was in financial services.
I started working as a cashier for the Woolwich when I was 17 and then moved over to Lloyds as an assistant manager at only 21.
From there I worked in independent financial services for a bit before I was made redundant in 2010 at just about the time I qualified as a Fitness Instructor.
My idea was that I would qualify and teach fitness as a second job in the evenings just as I loved it so much.
However I qualified in the May and was made redundant in the June.
The universe was telling me I should make a go of fitness full time, I thought and so I went for it,Keep fit with Kelly was born on the 1st August 2010 with a little Aerobics and Tone class at Falcon Lodge.
I still have some clients with me from those days!
How things have grown since then!
So was getting made redundant and being forced into working fitness full time the best thing for me? Was it scary and completely out of my comfort zone?
The answer is yes to both!
While being just about the most frightening thing I have ever done, starting my own business and becoming a fitness instructor has made me healthier and happier than I ever was before.
I was chatting to a lady in class the other day who was a teacher and now tutors privately and you could just tell from the way her eyes lit up when she spoke about teaching how much she loves it.
It is a wonderful thing if you can find a job that you love as I know there are lots of people who don't love their work, it is a necessity.
