It can be hard to stay motivated when the nights draw in....the temptation to just stay on the sofa rather than go out to exercise is HIGH..I get that!!!! Also the shops are already starting to fill their shelves with the Xmas goodies.......soon the coffee shops will have their specialty drinks in......I was behind 2 ladies in a queue in Aldi this week both buying mince pies.... BUT IF WE START EATING ALL THE GOODIES AND HIBERNATING NOW.......WHAT WEIGHT WILL YOU GAIN AND HOW WILL YOU FEEL BY THE NEW YEAR I love this time of the year...this run up to Xmas is my ABSOLUTE favourite and I am no party pooper... BUT If I start on the mince pies and baileys now then I will gain a stone by January...FACT!! And I do not want to do that!!!! So my message today is stay motivated.....make good food choices.......avoid the SUGAR and rubbish and keep up with the exercise routine...it only takes 2 weeks for your fitness levels to start to decrease!!! This is a really popular class.....if you are looking to add weights to your workout as we know this helps us Tone the body Change your shape Help your body burn fat faster Improve muscle tone Then this is the class for you!!!! You will need to bring along your own Kettlebell and I suggest between 2-4kg You can find this class on my timetable on a: Tuesday at 8pm Coppice School Thursdays 6.15pm Falcon Lodge Community Centre Here is what Marie said after trying this class.... "Loved the class! The class does go by really quickly, even the structure of the class is great, it helps you take your mind of the aches as your constantly changing things. You can really see how in time it will help sculpt my bingo wings away. My legs and glutes will be falling out with me tomorrow too. My thighs are already feeling heavy. Ha" Marie" I have had the pleasure of working with Becky in my In Home Personal Training programme and she has done amazingly well... In 4 weeks she has dropped 10lbs and 16 inches......here is her 4 week picture...doesn't she look great!!! And this is what she had to say about the sessions... “I signed up for 10 personal training sessions with Kelly. I had never done anything like it before so I didn’t really know what to expect. I really hope it does......but from my experiences of working with lots of different women I know that lots of us weigh ourselves many times in a day... WHY?? Why are you letting a number on a piece of equipment which can be faulty, can give you a different number depending on where it is placed...dictate your day and mood.. I do weigh my clients once a week and we do use it as a guide BUT we also measure, do photos and go by how they are feeling.....your weight can fluctuate so much depending on so many things...... So if you are weighing yourself multiple times in a day.......take my advice and STOP!!!! Hit reply and share your weighing stories....are you a serial weigher??? So lets not let it stop our fitness plan...just take some sensible steps and you will be fine... 1. Stay hydrated...drink water before during and after exercise.. 2. Wear loose comfortable clothing 3. If doing exercise in the evening and it has been hot during the day have a cool shower before class 4. Modify the intensity....be sensible especially if exercising outside..... Do you love the sunshine???? I am intrigued to see how I sleep, what my resting heart rate is and my steps!! Wow on Monday I did 25,000 steps!!! Guess that means I am active...... I know I am active already but I think it will make me conscious of my steps on weekends and holidays etc and for less active people I think it is a fab motivator! So have you got one??? Has it made you more active?? Has it made you focus on your sleep more????? I would be interested to hear your thoughts on them... I did my original fitness teaching course with the idea to do this as a second job to my main career in finance.......however things didn't pan out like that and after being made redundant in 2010 I decided to give the fitness thing a shot as a full time career... I started out really small working in gyms and then teaching my own tiny aerobics and tone class one evening a week... Then Zumba came along....it was massive at that time..there were Zumba classes going on in every school hall every evening.....with literally hundreds of people going to them....so in December 2010 I headed to London for the day and did my Zumba course... January 2011 I just went for it and put on 4 Zumba classes a week....my first class I will never forget......something like 70 people showed up!!! It was a crazy time but I will always be grateful to Zumba as it helped me get Keep fit with Kelly off the ground and now I have diversified and teach lots of other things.....it has grown massively BUT I still have 4 Zumba classes a week on my timetable and I LOVE them.......one is Zumba Gold which is for the older participant and is a little slower.....but it is a great concept... You don't have to be a great dancer...just be able to move and love music.... Come and give a Zumba or a Zumba Gold class a try.. Mondays 6.15pm Fairfax Tuesdays 7.00pm Coppice Wednesday 9.45am Zumba and 10.45am Zumba Gold Boldmere Methodist Church The class I am focusing on this week is Kettlercise......

Ha" Marie" The nights are dark...... The weather is cold...... The lure of the sofa is there...snuggling and not bothering to go out and do your exercise..... BUT Do you know that it only takes 2 weeks for your fitness levels to start to reverse.....so you have spent all year building up your fitness for it then to start to decline!!! How about the fact that exercise is excellent for your mental health so sitting on the sofa is not going to get you that endorphin buzz Or the big one.......your bum being on the sofa is going to spread!!!!!! SO My message is DONT GIVE UP......KEEP GOING FOR YOUR RUNS OR BIKE RIDES OR OUT TO YOUR CLASSES It is so important.....for so many reasons! Kelly x www.keepfitwithkelly.com |
